Week of March 23rd

Our greens have all been aerified and are now in the recovery process. The rain made it more difficult this year by only giving us two dry days to complete it in two weeks. We must have dry weather on the day of aerification so we can drag dry sand into the half inch holes in the green.

The greens are healing up nicely and they will get an added boost with the heat and sunlight over the next week.

While it was raining we were not able to mow so we decided to fix the fairway bunker on Hole 16. We removed the sand that was contaminated with soil and rocks and added all new sand. This bunker will be fluffy for awhile and firm up over time.

Now that the rain has stopped, our priority is getting the course mowed out and in good playing condition. The grass is so long that we will have to mow it twice to get a good cut on it. There will be a lot of grass clippings this week that we will have to blow daily. By next week we should be back to normal with the greens rolling smooth.
