The cold wet weather has delayed the greens from healing after the aerification this Spring but now they look good. As soon as they heal we try to get them back to normal by verticutting and some extra mowing. The greens are given extra fertilizer during the aerification process to help the grass grow into the holes. This usually makes them lush so that is why the extra mowing helps remove that grass. It looks like the weather will cooperate with us to allow for this work to get done.
I am very happy we have been able to improve the fairway bunker on 16. The grass around it doesn’t get the irrigation it needs so we regrassed it with a drought tolerant fescue to help it survive the summer heat.

Last week was also a good time to complete the sod work around the course. We fixed some bad spots along the cart path on Hole 13 and 11. Here is a before picture.
