The trees on the property are very important to the playability and aesthetics of the golf course. When we lose a tree to either wind or insects, we look at it’s importance to the golf course to determine if we replace it with another tree. Some trees, like willows, are not a good choice for golf courses because of their invasive root system that you can see in the bunkers on Hole 3 and 13.
Tree selection and placement is very important. We would always replace a tree if it is important to the strategy of the golf hole. One that we would not replace is the dead tree on Hole 4 due to being out of play and next to the cart path. Tree roots have pushed up many cart paths throughout the course making the paths bumpy.

This tree has declined rapidly this winter due to insect damage and will be scheduled to be taken down soon.
