Week of October 1st

2 green

Is Winter here already? It sure felt like it earlier this week when the course got two inches of rain in 24 hours. We love that it rained but it did wash out the bunkers and force the maintenance team to fix bunkers for most of the week.

It looks like we will have warm dry weather in the coming weeks to allow us to complete the aerification process promptly. Before the rain came we were able to pull cores and seed the entire rough. If you look closely in the rough you may find the seedlings already an inch long.

Our Fall aerification schedule is as follows,

Sept. 24-28 Rough

Oct 9-12 Fairways

Oct 16 and 17 Greens

Oct 18 and 19 Tees

Oct 22-26 Finishing Fairways

Oct 29-31 Green Surrounds

This schedule will change with any major rain event but the forecast looks promising. We do ask everyone to please keep golf carts on the path as we punch cores on the fairways so that we don’t get mud everywhere. We want to keep the course as clean as possible. After we clean up the cores, seed is applied and drug into the holes to promote germination.

Thank you for your patience during this process.
