An update from activities this week:
- Wednesday was John’s last day as Superintendent here at Sonoma Golf Club. We are very thankful for his time here and the leadership he provided. We wish him all the best as he moves on to his next endeavor. As we await the hire of our next Superintendent, this blog will be a place where you can continue to find updates on course conditions as well as projects we are working on. During this transition time to a new Superintendent, we as a Maintenance Staff are moving forward. Grass continues to grow, work still needs to be done, and you as Members still expect top conditions as you spend your time on the course. We will continue to deliver our best.

Bunker Project
The fairway bunkers have been completed! Old sand was removed, drainage integrity checked, and new sand added to the proper depth. We have been using a plate compactor to help the sand settle for play-ability and this will continue to occur as needed. We have identified a few green side bunkers that will be renovated as well. Those will be started as soon as course conditions allow us to do so.
Trees Planted
Four trees have been planted. Two pin oaks on the right rough of 15 and two sycamore’s in the rough between 6 and 12.

Rainfall
Our latest storm has brought our season total to 32″ of rain, which has surpassed all of last year. For February we have received 9.95″ to date. Obviously, the course is saturated and we will be getting out to mow fairways and rough as soon as conditions allow.
