Week of February 26

Mother Nature continues to shower us with rainfall. The month of February brought us 18 inches of rain. To put that into perspective, that is over half of our total rain received during all of last season. Currently our total rainfall this year just passed the 40 inch mark.

The rain has delayed us in getting some bunkers completed in the timeline we were hoping for but drier weather seems to be on the horizon which should allow us to complete our bunker renovations before the start of aerification in the middle of March. The fairway bunkers have been completed and we will be targeting individual greenside bunkers in the next two weeks.

#7 Cartpath

Last week we were able to install a drain tile under the cart path that goes from #6 green to #7 tee. You may recall that a small, persistent flow of water would trickle over the cart path, making it slick at times.

Topdressing Fairways

We are continuing our topdressing program for fairways. Our goal is to do this with as little disruption to play as possible. Twelve holes have been completed and the remainder will be finished as soon as the fairways are dry enough for our equipment.

We as a Maintenance Department are very much looking forward to drier, warmer temperatures!

Enjoy your time on the course.
