In this update, we will discuss what was completed during week two (March 9-13) on the driving range project. The following items were completed during this period:
– Installed new drainage.
– Formed and poured 200 foot concrete pad for the synthetic surface.
– Started adding 2 inches of new mix to be tilled into existing mix 4 inches deep.

The items scheduled for week three are:
– Finish adding 2 inches of new mix and till in at a 4 inch depth.
– Laser level to final grade and adjust sprinkler head depths accordingly.
– Sod the perimeter areas of the teeing surface.
– Prep and seed the tee bed.
– Install the TurfHound synthetic surface on the concrete pad.
As we are all aware, the COVID-19 virus has things changing on a daily basis right now, so this may affect week three scheduling. As I write this, it looks like we will finish everything except the installation of the synthetic surface due to the possibility of a travel ban by the company performing the install. I will put out an updated blog Friday night discussing how week three progressed.
Yours in turf,
Stacy L. Wallace, Golf Course Superintendent
