September 10, 2023 Update

During the upcoming week, holes #10, #11, and #16 will have sod installed. Monday a crew will lay the Turf Type Tall Fescue around the bunkers and Tuesday thru Thursday the remainder of the sod will be laid. Along with that finish work will continue on holes #1 and #17. From there they will move to #18, #9 and #8.

In this picture you can see the finished look of the Tall Fescue around the perimeter of the bunkers. This will be maintained at a higher height of cut than the normal rough.

Along with the construction project, we will make our first fairway application to start eradicating the Common Bermuda grass in the fairways and proceed with fall tee aeration. If everything goes well, we will aerate nine holes Tuesday and the other nine Wednesday so we can clean up and get the course ready for the Club Championship.

Due to the Club Championship, the construction crews will not work Saturday, so we can have all holes available for the tournament. Because of the amount of sod being installed at #11, it will be Cart Path Only for everyone until the sod establishes.

If you have any questions regarding the bunker project or anything, feel free to contact me or stop me on the golf course.

Yours in turf,

Stacy L. Wallace, Golf Course Superintendent
