As I sit and write this, we are on the final stretch of the bunker renovation project from a construction standpoint. Rough shaping has moved to #9 and finish shaping is taking place on #18. Along with that, #17 and #1 sodding was finished this week. If everything goes as planned #18 will be sodded next Friday. The rough shaping for #9 is scheduled thru Thursday next week, then moving to #8 with that procedure being scheduled to complete October 3rd. After the rough shaping is complete, we expect another week and a half for the finish shaping, sod, and any punch list items to be corrected. During this phase the practice bunker on the driving range will get a facelift also. During and after these phases, the grow in period will continue to get the new catch areas around greens to the desired height of cut.

Another project that has been implemented is the beginning of a process to remove the Common Bermuda turf from our fairways to promote a more desirable playing surface in the long run. In the pictures below you will see the discoloring of the Common Bermuda after the first selective spray application. There will be two more applications this fall along with interseeding more desirable turf.

Please contact me with any questions or feel free to stop me on the golf course to discuss.
