Last week was a productive week for the staff. Since we were closed on Monday the 19th, we were able to verticut , inter-seed (new variety of bentgrass), and topdress all 21 greens. Along with the green maintenance, staff aerated all the fairways with a vertical slicer. We also got an application of fertilizer on all the roughs and fairways.
We will continue aerating/seeding and possibly sodding the new sod areas to help them recover from the summer stress and relieve construction compaction. Although we are still seeing high temperatures consistently, the days are getting shorter, so the length of those high ambient temperatures are reducing.
We will close the golf course for maintenance procedures September 23 and September 3oth.
