November 22, 2024 Update

As I sit and write this, we are receiving rainfall for the third day in a row. Due to the amount of rain the golf course has been closed yesterday and today. With more forecasted today, we will reevaluate in the morning and communicate the status via e-mail. Following are our totals to date:

  • October – .07 inches
  • Thru November 18th – 1.75 inches
  • As of today November 22nd – 10.35 inches

As you can see, we have received 8.6 inches in the last 48 hours. The positive is we need the rainfall to recharge our reservoirs both above and underground.

Here you see we have water flowing in from Sonoma Mountain.

More good news is the performance of our bunkers after the renovation. In the picture below you see a renovated bunker after the 48 hours of rainfall we just received.

As you can see, we have no erosion and minimal contamination.
Here you see our old bunker infrastructure after a 4-inch rain. The erosion and contamination was extensive and would require many labor hours to get them back in play.
We have finished the installation of the new drinking water station located near the 6th and 13th tee.

Yours in turf,

Stacy L. Wallace, Golf Course Superintendent
