As we roll into the third week of June, following are some of the items we have done the first two weeks.
- Started mowing native areas for fire abatement and weed control.
- Staff did quarterly check of bunker sand depth.
- Continued to aerate/seed and fertilize the new sod areas.
- Fertilized Tall Fescue around bunkers.
- Fertilized rough.
- Continued weed abatement.
- Edged cart paths.
Monday June 23rd we will be closed to perform the following tasks:
- Needle tine/verticut/seed/topdress green surfaces.
- Aerate/overseed north end of the driving range landing area. We will also fertilize the entire range surface. Perform necessary irrigation repairs.
- Begin vertical aeration on fairways to relieve compaction and open up some channels to facilitate water movement through the profile related to golf car stress.
We will also start implementing the Dallisgrass elimination program discussed in the June newsletter post the Highlander event.
