As we approach August, we have been fortunate to enjoy some mild weather. This week, we completed several practices:
- Edged cart paths.
- Aerated, seeded, and fertilized the north driving range tee.
- Fertilized the entire driving range and clubhouse turf.
- Continued weed abatement.
- Putting green surface flush.
The green flush is a process in which we apply gypsum and potassium. Following this, we perform a deep watering to wash out the sodium accumulated from our water source used for irrigation. This, along with other practices, helps us maintain healthy conditions. The mild weather has also been a major factor for us this year as compared to 2024.
On another note, we have received bids for the irrigation system replacement. We are reviewing them to decide which contractor to select. Once we have more information on timing, we will communicate how the process will move ahead.
Just a friendly reminder to everyone. Please repair your ball mark. We continue to see many unrepaired marks on the surfaces. Please feel free to email me if you have any questions or just wave me down on the golf course — I’d be happy to chat!
Yours in turf,
Stacy L. Wallace, Class A Golf Course Superintendent
