February 12th, 2026 Update

As I sit and write this, we are finally seeing some essential rainfall in the month of February. From a project point of view, the minimal rain since the first week of January has benefited. To date the following has been completed:

  • Main line installation is finished.
  • Pump station wet well and concrete pad installed.
  • Pump station intake line installed.
  • Installed all three communication hubs. They are located at #4 bathroom, behind #6 green, and left of #9 near the parking lot.
  • Lateral pipe and irrigation rotors installed on #3, #4, #5, #6, #7, #11, #12, #13, #14, #15, #16 and #17. #8 will be finished this week. From there they will start installing the laterals at #9. The remaining holes to be done are #1, #2, #9, #10, and #18. After that will be the clubhouse and driving range.
  • Installation of infrastructure at Arnold well to divert the water to new irrigation pond installed.
  • Installation of new line to access Valley of The Moon water installed.
  • New valves installed at #5 well delivery infrastructure installed.

We have started going through finished holes with the contractor and developing a punch list for them to start performing. This will expedite this portion of the project instead of waiting until the end. In the picture below you see them repairing damaged sod on hole #6.

Our staff has been busy inspecting existing drainage and installing new in areas of need. This is new drainage at #9 to rectify a perennially wet area along the cart path.

Another piece of exciting news is the acquisition of two autonomous fairway mowing units. Some of the benefits will be the reallocation of skilled labor, no engine or hydraulic leak opportunities, and zero emissions. Once the units arrive and setup, we will discuss more details about their operations. In the meantime, please view the video below.

Significant rain is expected to start Sunday and continue through the middle of next week. While this may impact underground installation, we hope to continue working on punch list items above ground during this period. Please feel free to wave me down or send me an email if you have any questions about the project or maintenance in general.

Yours in turf,

Stacy L. Wallace, Golf Course Superintendent
