As we reach mid-June the agronomy team will be performing a small tine aeration on the greens to relieve compaction and enhance oxygen levels in the soil structure. This procedure is less evasive than the 1/2-inch tines we use in the normal spring and fall organic removal aeration. We will perform this Monday, so the golf course will not open until noon.

Along with the green procedure, we will be aerating, seeding, sanding and fertilizing the driving range tee. Because of this procedure and some additional driving range work, the range will be closed all day Monday June 15th.
Other procedures that we will implement this week are listed below:
- Fertility application of rough areas.
- Continued aeration of irrigation lines to relieve construction compaction.
- Installation of new yardage tags on sprinkler heads.
- Continued weed abatement spot applications.
As we noted in the June newsletter, we are still working off the old irrigation pump station until the upgraded power source gets installed. Our contractor will be out Monday to start installing the underground infrastructure. PG&E is scheduled to come out June 23rd for the trench inspection. Once that is complete our contractor can backfill trenches and pour the concrete pads. After the concrete is cured PG&E will install their equipment. Once we have a schedule for the PG&E install, we will communicate to the membership anticipated time frame to start taking full advantage of the new system.
Please feel free to e-mail me or wave me down on the golf course if you have any questions.
Yours in turf,
Stacy L. Wallace, Golf Course Superintendent
